Ariel The Little Mermaid Costume

Almost every little girl dreams of being a princess.  I absolutely wanted to be Ariel.  She even had red hair, so she tried to figure out what it would take to become a mermaid.

Imagine the time my mother had trying to explain to her five year old that she couldn't become a mermaid.  The closest thing she could do for her daughter was to purchase an Ariel doll.

I mostly played with horses and other toys like that, but Ariel was the exceptional doll.  She went everywhere with me.

It's probably a good thing that the Ariel costumes didn't exist back then.  Mom would have had a difficult time getting me out of them!

The little Ariel fans of today will be gleeful to look like Ariel, but the poor mothers might have their hands full explaining to their daughters that Ariel was, indeed, a mythical creature!

But what a wonderful character in the skilled hands of Disney. I just love the Disney animated Little Mermaid movie, its catchy music, and the depiction of Ariel in the above artwork (credit Disney).  I believe it would make great "wallpaper."

Disney princesses are a trend that I double will ever disappear.  Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, The Little Mermaid Ariel, Sleeping Beauty . . . Come on, we all have our favorite!

For my sister, it was Snow White.  I didn't really like the story of Snow White, because at the time, the evil queen scared me.

Each child has her own favorite.  Mine, of course, was Ariel . . . which is why I wanted to create these pages for you, for the sake of all those Ariel fans out there.

Feel free to take a swim after browsing here if you like.  But unfortunately (or fortunately) you won't develop fins!
